It’s that time of year as the weather cools and the jack-o-lanterns have been carved. Kingston provides many ways to enjoy the Halloween spirit.
One of the most popular activities occurs at Kingston’s historic Fort Henry. Fort Fright is an indoor and outdoor haunted attraction set up annually and offers live actors dressed in costume to scare everyone who dares to enter! Another popular activity is The Haunted Walk. As seen on Ghost Hunters, explore Fort Henry, Kingston’s spooky 19th century fortress, as your guide recounts its tragic history, including the hanging of Nils Von Schoultz, the secret of Deadman’s Bay, and many supernatural encounters! On October 22nd, Kingston also hosts its annual Zombie Walk. In support of Kingston’s Youth Shelter, grab the family, slap on some fake blood, and bring some non-perishable food items to donate to the shelter. The walk starts in McBurney Park and makes its way through downtown starting at 1pm.
For a family-friendly activity be sure to visit Sydenham Street on October 28th starting at 5pm for a viewing of 2 ‘scary’ movies (Goosebumps and Beetlejuice). All you need to bring is a chair! Kids can also trick or treat at downtown local businesses (supporting locations will have balloons out front).
